Seasonal foods!

In Portland, it has been very crisp and cold for a week, and I feel winter is just around the corner.  What reminds you of winter?  A winter vacation?  Christmas? New Years?  I think seasonal foods are the first sign of winter.  I have good childhood memories of winter foods in Korea. Once, after playing a snowball game, I came back home hungry.  My mom offered me hot steamed sweet potatoes, Korean style pancakes, red bean filled dumplings, and fish cake soup. When I think about it, all that food, it makes my mouth water. I have seen some seasonal foods in America as well, such as eggnog, pumpkin latte, and peppermint flavors.  These things make me look forward towinter.

What kinds of winter food do you have in mind? Do you have unique winter food in your hometown?
