When leaving Portland!

Almost everyone who visits Portland falls in love with it; I did too, I admit! Having attended PSU for two years, and recently graduated, I was concerned that I might not be able to stay here any longer for one reason or another. I believed that because this is usually what happens with me: after graduation, I like to “do bigger and better things,” as they say, but I don’t think so this time. Portland is big and good enough for me, I feel.

Even before my graduation from PSU this June, I began looking into possible jobs, but nothing came up; chances of staying in Portland seemed slim. As a student of PSU, with an MA, I thought it would be a bit easier to find a job locally; I was wrong, and my original concern became a self-fulfilling prophecy. However, it is not the lack of jobs in the area that I have a hard time accepting; it is leaving Portland, PSU and so many of my friends that really hold me back. Since I did not find a job locally, I had to make the decision of moving in the near future! I guess it is always this way, as soon as one chapter closes, a new one opens; and I certainly should look forward to it because I had my chance of enjoying my student life in Portland, and there are people out there who do not ever get such a chance.

I will certainly miss PSU!
