How to Prepare for New Student Orientation

Once you’ve confirmed your enrollment you’re eligible to sign up for New Student Orientation.

Completion of New Student Orientation is required in order to register for your first term.

Orientation sign-ups will open on June 15. We know you’re eager to prepare for your next step, so in the meantime, here’s what to expect:

On June 15, you’ll receive an email reminder to sign up for New Student Orientation. You’ll log in to the Orientation portal to sign up. On June 21, you’ll get access to your Online Orientation module. A notification will be sent to your @pdx.edu email address with your unique link to complete the module. When you get access to the Online Orientation module, you can begin as soon as you would like. The module is self-paced and can be completed at any time that works for your schedule. Your link to the online orientation will expire three weeks after receiving it.

You’ll get instructions about how to make an appointment with your advisor during orientation. You do not need to make an appointment with an advisor prior to completing orientationIf you have questions about registration, make sure to attend a Registration Lab. Academic advisors and student Orientation Leaders are ready to assist during any of the drop-in Virtual Registration Lab events, these will begin on June 21.

Read our blog post for more details about what to expect during a virtual orientation.
