What are Viking Days?

Each year, Portland State University celebrates the start of fall term with Viking Days, a series of events and activities welcoming incoming students to PSU’s urban campus. New students just beginning their college journey, transfer students joining a new campus community, and returning students to PSU are all sure to learn more about PSU and experience the transition to a new school year. This year, Viking Days will be held from September 21-30, 2023.

There are tons of fun events happening throughout the week, but here is a sampling of what students can look forward to attending this year:

And more! Students should be sure to come to as many events during Viking Days as they can – there are so many great opportunities to make new friends and learn about the opportunities available to PSU students.

Says student Sujehy, “I think Viking Days was a good way of getting used to the campus and going out. They had so many free things, which is all college students’ heaven. I think the drag shows and interactive events they had were so much fun and definitely my favorite! The karaoke night, the drag show, and the jaripeo were all things that definitely brought students out.”

Stacey, another student, adds, “The drag show was phenomenal, it was one of the best events I went to that year. Everyone was super into it, it was so fun! Definitely you should go!”

Students should be sure to check their emails in the coming weeks, so that they stay in the know about the many events happening all over campus!
