This fall, PSU will welcome upwards of 2,500 new students to campus — and if you’re among our incoming class, we’ll see you at New Student Orientation very soon.
Attending orientation is a requirement for all newly enrolled students. While it may feel like a to-do, it’s far from a chore. It’s an opportunity to celebrate your start at PSU and the next step in your academic journey. Plus you’ll get registered for classes, pick your freshman inquiry course and familiarize yourself with everything that PSU has to offer.
PSU will host three Transfer Student Orientations and three First Year Student Orientations in July and August, with the first sessions on July 9 and 10. Each session has a full day of programming including a welcome session and breakfast, community-based and informational breakout sessions and a resource fair and luncheon.
You’ll also have opportunities to explore campus, meet other new PSU students and attend academic advising meetings to register for classes. There is even unique programming for families of incoming students, including bilingual Spanish sessions.
First Year Orientation sessions include an optional second day of programming, with additional information sessions, a variety of campus tours, department and resource center open houses, additional academic advising opportunities and registration labs.
If you’re a fall 2024 student and you haven’t yet signed up for orientation, do so now! Our initial sessions are near capacity and the others are filling up fast. Remember, you must complete New Student Orientation to register for your first term, and you’re eligible to sign up for your orientation session as soon as you’ve confirmed your enrollment. If you already registered for orientation, check your email and your Admitted Student Portal for all the details.
We can’t wait to welcome you to our Viking community at New Student Orientation, and help you get set up for the next steps in your academic journey.
