What is the Tuition-Free Degree Program?

Earning a college degree is one of the best ways to access a fulfilling career path, and graduating with as little debt as possible gives you even more freedom to pursue your passions. Let us introduce you to Tuition Free Degree, a program with a bold commitment: If you are an eligible Oregon resident, PSU will cover standard tuition and most mandatory fees for all four years of your bachelor’s degree, plain and simple.

At PSU, we are committed to your success and we want you to join the ranks of PSU graduates who are making a difference, whether that means you’re designing at Nike, innovating at Intel, or winning the Pulitzer Prize. Starting fall 2023, current PSU students who remain eligible for Four Years Free or Transfers Finish Free funding will automatically transition to the Tuition-Free Degree program.

To qualify for Tuition Free Degree, you must:

  • Oregon resident
  • Pell Grant-eligible according to FAFSA
  • Enroll part or full time (6-16 credits per term)
  • Admissible to PSU as an undergraduate first year or transfer student or re-enrolling as an undergraduate

Review the official Tuition-Free Degree policy for more details on maintaining eligibility. If you’re re-enrolling at PSU, contact the Transfer and Returning Student Resource Center, for help navigating your return.

  • Fall Term: August 1
    • Students who apply to PSU for fall term after August 1 may be considered if funds are available.
  • Winter Term: December 5
  • Spring Term: March 5

Re-Enrolling students must submit the FAFSA by the deadlines listed above. Students will be notified that they are eligible for the Tuition-Free Degree program via email and in their financial aid offer. Apply to PSU today!
